Quote of the day: There’s more to life than Gucci bags

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009

“Above all, remember that the most important thing you can take anywhere is not a Gucci bag or French-cut jeans; it’s an open mind”–Gail Ruben Bereny

I hate stereotypes! One of the stereotypes that is most common is that all models are dumb which is not true. However, model Chanel Iman does very little to disprove that rumor and especially not in her most recent interview with The Cut.

During the interview, the young Gucci runway model discusses how she aspires to be a “glamorous woman” and that when looking at fashionable women men are only interested in bodily parts.

The Cut: Where do you want to be in a couple of years?
Chanel Iman: A glamour woman. Just glamorous.

The Cut: What do you think men look at when they judge fashionable women?
Chanel Iman: I say boobs and tits. I also say the eyes. I think the eyes are very seductive.

The Cut: Do you think they look at a specific fashion item on a woman?
Chanel Iman: The shoes — guys look at the shoes, how bad your heels are.

For more of the interview that proves that the content of a Gucci bag is not more important than the contents of your mind click here. Materialism does not count as something admirable in my opinion. The only thing that counts is what is in your brain not what kind of purse you carry. Ugh, I can’t believe she used to be my favorite model of the moment.
